Where are you located?
We are located on the corner of Haywood Rd and Fairfax Ave in West Asheville.
When is the office open?
Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm; Fridays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
What can I expect on Sunday mornings?
You can expect a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Come hungry, because we like to eat just about every time we get together.
What should I wear?
You will find people dressed in a variety of ways. Honestly, don’t worry about it.
Who is the church for?
How big is the church?
The church building is really big, but we run about 120 people on a Sunday and a little less on Wednesday nights.
Which door should I go in?
On Sunday mornings all doors should be open, but I would suggest coming in the side doors labeled church office or sanctuary entrance. During the week the door labeled church office is your best bet. Ring the buzzer if it’s locked.
What do you believe?
Lots of things. We trust in Jesus, we worship God, and we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. If you want a little bit of a read you can check out the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message for a more detailed list. Or if reading is not your thing come by some time and we can discuss your theological questions over a cup of coffee.
What is a Baptist?
A Baptist is someone who is non-creedal, but extremely passionate about a few beliefs. We believe that every Christian is a priest and has complete access to God through Jesus. We believe that each church body should be autonomous and governed by its members. We believe in religious freedom. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and we partake in the Lord’s Supper and Believer’s Baptism by immersion.
Who do you partner with?
Grace Baptist Church is a part of the Buncombe Baptist Association, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and the Southern Baptist Convention. We also participate in mission with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Mission, and the Western North Carolina Rescue Mission.
